Remove right arrow from url bar?

more options

Hello,

I just upgraded to Windows 10. Now, in my Firefox, when I type in a URL and hit "Enter," like I've always done... like I want to do... and like I will continue doing... nothing happens. Instead, I have to mouse over to a new right arrow that appears to the right of the URL bar and click it to get where I want to go.

Why?

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Who the frick thought this was a good idea? Or is it a bug?

Can I remove this arrow and go back to using the Enter key?

Thanks,

--Russ

I can assure you that this is a bug, not a feature. I'm sure that the vast majority of Firefox users also simply click enter.

When you say you "upgraded to Windows 10", is it safe to assume that you mean you switched from Windows 7 or 8 on the same system?

If that's the case, you may need to reinstall Firefox. It's pretty common for the Windows update process (especially if you are upgrading your OS entirely) to damage existing software on your computer. Reinstalling will repair any damaged files.

If that still doesn't help, try running Firefox in Safe Mode. This will help us to rule out any issues caused by hardware acceleration or installed browser extensions.

Hope this helps.
