I have tried to download windows 8.1 through firfox in my ubuntu 14.04 lapto.but it download binary/octet stream instead of raw cd image.any one please help me.

I have updated my old version of firfox through terminal.
Not sure what your doing wrong but in Windows using firefox-I can get to the Windows download page for 8.1. So I think you might have to post to the ubuntu forum and ask for more help on this as well.
