Some weeks ago Firefox decided to stop remembering the last location I uploaded a file from. Instead it always defaults to my Desktop when I wish to upload a document or photo. I have NEVER uploaded anything from my Desktop because I do not keep any files on my Desktop. What is the cause of this behavior and how do I change it?!?!?

By default Firefox has to options for download the download Folder and the Always ask you where to save files Go to Menu >Options > General > Downloads Verify your settings and choose the most convenient If you want a more flexible behavior you can try this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/save-in/?src=search

It seems strange to me that one gets responses about DOWNloads when one is asking about UPloads. Even Google search does it.

I'm sorry for my confusion but remembering the upload folder (last access folder ) is a windows feature not Firefox . Firefox access the Open Dialog. And this " strange behavior" means that the last time you upload files you do from the Desktop.

Thank you for trying to help me. I truly appreciate it. But as I said in my original post, I never upload ANYTHING from my Desktop. I do not keep ANY files on my Desktop. That is one of the reasons the whole thing is so frustrating.

You did provide me with two vital pieces of info, what it is called ("last access folder") and that it is a Windows feature. Searching is pretty fruitless if one does not have the specific terminology. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!

What is the default download folder as set in Options/Preferences (this might be grayed).

As stated before, Firefox doesn't keep track of the upload folder, but defaults to the default download folder AFAIK. Windows might keep an MRU list for uploading in the Registry, but this list might depend upon the file extension (content type) and Firefox might fallback to the default download location if this MRU list fails.

Thank you for your response! There is no "Preferences" in Options. I have "Downloads" set to "Always ask"...
