mbae64.dll = Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit
Update Malwarebytes. If the problem continues, disable it.
Thanks for your help. I installed malwarebytes just a few hours ago to help with this problem. So it's updated. The problem happened before I installed and continues after I installed it and ran it (and did quarantine a bunch of stuff). I can and will disable it. But I suspect it won't matter.
Indeed. I quit malwarebytes and it makes no difference.

I called for more help. Let's make sure your system is clean.
You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
Will do. I fear the ultimate solution will be a clean installation of Windows.
I ran all of them. Nothing major was found (lots of tracking cookies and the like). And nothing seems any different. Any other ideas?

The crash happens in safe mode
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Odd, but the problem is even worse in safe mode. Simply going to gmail.com crashes firefox after a few seconds. Previously I needed to enter a search to have it crash.
The problem continued worse (as per previous post) in normal mode. I'm doing a clean install of windows (sigh). So that makes further advice moot. Presumably, this problem won't continue with windows reinstalled. That said, I appreciate your time and help. Thank you.
Please keep us posted.
I first tried a Windows 10 "refresh" or whatever it's called where you keep your files and settings. It made no difference. That surprised me; I thought it would work. And the problem actually continued as worse, with gmail just crashing every time even without a search. Then I bit the bullet and reinstalled windows. Of course it's fine now. But I do have to reinstall everything. Anyway, I combined that with a new SSD hard drive. So at least I can pretend some good came out if. Could it have been a virus legacy? A hard disk problem? Who knows? Not me.
