FF no longer warns when closing multiple open tabs
This happened very suddenly. Yesterday I got the warning before closing multiple tabs, today I do not. I added no new extensions. I have automatic updates set, so have been using the most recent version since it was released. Now the options page doesn't even have "warn before closing multiple tabs" as an option. I have tried every suggestion, and the last suggestion was to ask a new question (I don't know why). This is an important option for me as I have a touch screen device (Surface PRO) an often accidentally brush the close button (the x) and counted on the "Warn before closing" to prevent closing when I really don't want to close.

Could you double-check this setting:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste warn and pause while the list is filtered
(3) If the browser.tabs.warnOnClose preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to false, double-click it to restore the default value of true
(4) If you are closing the last window accidentally, you might also want to try: double-click the browser.showQuitWarning preference to switch the value from false to true
Thanks for responding, bug these were all suggested before and I tried them all. They did not solve the problem.
Does the problem only occur when Firefox is shutting down, or does it occur when you have multiple windows open and close just one of them?
If Firefox is shutting down and is set to restore your previous session tabs and windows at startup, then it may not bother with a warning. I'm not sure if there is a workaround for that.
