I want incoming gmail imap emails to be directed to the Local Folders Inbox, rather than to a separate imap Inbox.

In the past, regardless of the sources of email addresses that I use in Thunderbird, I was always able to have all incoming messages be stored in the Inbox of Local Folders. During the setup process, all I had to do was click on: Tools|Account Settings|Server Settings|Advanced|Inbox for different account|Local Folder. This worked for my comcast account as well as a gmail account. However, I have a new gmail account that produces a different window when I click on "Advanced" above. This window seems to have nothing to do with where incoming messages are stored. And there seems to be no other way to have all emails stored in a single Inbox. Currently, therefore, I must maintain two Inboxes, which is irritating. So, my question is how can I have all incoming emails stored in a single Inbox, instead of one for every source, as I have always been able to do previously?

I think that prompt you describe exists only in POP-connected accounts. So the answer would be to set up the new gmail account using POP.
