I only get a "new tab" when I start Firefox, I can't get to any webpage, bookmark, nothing displays, tried everything in support forum, including unistalling
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox as well as rebooting in between this process. I tried starting Firefox in safe mode as well as refreshing Firefox after a reinstall and still only get the window with "new tab". It won't go to any of my bookmarks, or home page, I have also typed in google.ca and nothing happens. This occurred after updating adobe flash player while doing some education. I have since uninstalled the adobe update and still Firefox will not display anything but the "new tab"

Something else to consider:
One of the main effects of the Firefox 56.0.1 update was to migrate 64-bit Windows users from the traditional 32-bit version of Firefox to the 64-bit version. We've received a number of puzzling reports of Firefox either not starting (probably due to incompatibilities with 64-bit drivers that Firefox expects/requires) or not loading any pages after this migration.
Therefore, if the usual investigation doesn't yield any solutions, it is worth trying a return to 32-bit Firefox.
While normally this kind of change is seamless -- the installer detects your existing data and preserves everything -- you might want to make a backup "just in case."
- Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
- How to opt out of 32-bit Firefox migration to 64-bit
Note: If you decide to try 64-bit Firefox on the same system at some point in the future, see: How to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit Firefox.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}
