Firefox Portable "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
Hello all, I am trying to install Firefox portable on my MacBook and it constantly gives me this error message when I go to start it up:
"Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I have googled the heck out of this issue and have tried every single solution I could find for the past 3 hours and I have had no luck at all.
I tried installing Firefox portable on my old MacBook, and even on a completely different computer it still is giving me this error. So it seems to be a compatibility issue between the MacBook and Firefox portable.
I would really like to begin using Firefox portable and I would appreciate it if someone can offer a possible solution to the problem I am experiencing. Thank you!

How are you running it on OS X? The Firefox from PortableApps is for Windows or Wine:
If you are running Wine and it doesn't work correctly, please try the PortableApps forums to see whether there is a known issue, or they can provide other configuration guidance:
Thank you for your reply.
I downloaded it from here: http://www.freesmug.org/portableapps:firefox
I suspect that dmg is too old now. Firefox 4 also has openly disclosed security vulnerabilities, so I recommend not bothering with that version.
That is a shame to hear, so there is no current support for Firefox portable on Mac?
Mozilla doesn't create portable versions, those are all unofficial. Why do you want a portable version instead of the normal version??
By normal version I mean:
I figured out a solution to the problem.
I download Firefox portable and drag it into the file I want it to be in, and then try to open it. I get the error message that says "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I then rename the application file, re-download Firefox portable, drag it into the same file directory and select the option to "merge" it with the first file that will not work.
The second file that I merge works with no issues. I tried this 10 different times, and for some reason, only when I re-download Firefox and merge it, then it will always work.
