For example: I'm in a webex session, the session ends and I close webex meeting window. Webex automatically opens up a new browser window with a company logo, etc.

Is there an addon that is VERY strict about ANY new window, tab, or popup? Essentially, unless I press "keyboard shortcut" no new window will be created, no new tab opens. I don't care if i issue the firefox command directly, double click on the icon on my desktop... anything. No new window shall be created unless i use a keyboard shortcut at the time of execution.

Hi

Type about:preferences and clear the check box on the General tab marked Open new windows in a new tab instead. (You may also want to select the box underneath marked When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately.)

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.

Thank you for the reply but this isn't what I am looking for. I've already implemented your suggested configuration.

I'm looking for an addon or configuration that will not allow a new window or tab under any circumstances.

For example: I install an addon that adds On/Off switch to my browser tool bar. When it is in the "on" position, no new window will open. When it is in the "off" position, it would operate normally.

In the 1990s, there was an application that I would install. When a new window would try to open, the computer would make this "bzzzzzztt" noise like a bug zapper. I even think that the icon of the application was a flyswatter. For the life of me, I can not remember what the name of it was. It is essentially what I want.
