Basically Fred I followed your instructions because I TRUST Firefox and there was something I can see that you did not comment on - there is - in the advanced section abox that was checked - asking for to be warned if a site tried to redirect you - I unchecked that box and that was the problem solved - please pass this on to any one who needs to know - because that box had been accidentally checked and I do not need warning - being that I am nobody's innocent child - not at 81 at any rate Many Many thanks Fred for your help - who ticked that blooming box - bloody gremlins

What does the banner say? Where are you trying to go, and where do you end up?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Yes it is still there and it restarted with my original tabs and none of my addons seem to be gone - my owls are still perche in the top of the browser thanks for trying But there's another thing

While we are at it Fred - this is in G.mail - not everywhere - Firefox does not interfere with Amazon for example

I have also written on another page from Firefox and send FredMcD a hug - but there was something I found - you should be wary of accidentally clicking boixes thinking they are essential

I had clicked a box with "Warn me when a site wants to re-direct me" Something like that - it had been clicked ACCIDENTALLY

I unchecked it and my problem only immediately went away

Thanks to FredMcD
