Google search result site automatically forwards to playstore for some links?
Since today, when I google something and click on a wikipedia link, the play store opens and shows the wikipedia app. How can I disable this and instead get to the link I clicked on?
When following links on wikipedia itself, this does not happen, it's only on the google search results page. It also doesn't happen when I'm opening the link in a new tab.
The same also happens for other sites like stackoverflow.com... VERY annoying...

I think this is not Firefox browser issue.
I'm afraid you're right... Just noticed the same behavior in Dolphin, but not in Chrome... Still, if anybody has a clue what is going on here, I'd be happy to hear it ;)
I have the same problem. I have ff for android v 45.0 (auto updated), on nexus 7 (2013), android 6.01.
Recently, while clicking on google search results, instead of going to the corresponding web page, I get redirected to google play store to a corresponding app.
Example: I search for "The Guardian" (a British newspaper). The top result is a link to http://www.theguardian.com/. When I click on it, however, instead of the guardian web site, google play store opens with the guardian app. Funnily enough, when I click on one of the subsidiary links in the google search result, eg http://www.theguardian.com/football, then the correct web page opens. The same thing happens with other sites/apps, eg IMDB. When I click on the search result for the guardian as rated by imdb, I get redirected to the imdb app on google play store, instead of to the imdb web site. When I click on the result for the guardian in wikipedia, I get redirected to the wikipedia app on google play store, instead of to the wikipedia web page on the guardian.
I have avira antivirus installed, it found no problems. I have also scanned all my apps with several other antivirus apps, all found nothing.
I have deleted all my apps' caches, reset my google ad identifier ... problem remains.
I only have a few addons, all for a long time: adblock plus 2.7.2, clean quit 1.5.1, quit 1.18.07.1, self destructing cookies 0.4.9, and open h264 video codec from cisco systems 1.5.3. None have ever caused problems.
Please advise. I would be most grateful for your help.

It's not happening on my smartphone, only on my tablet. It does not seem to be a problem with "standard actions" as my play store has no standard actions that I can delete...
This is an issue with android. In the last two days most android browsers started behaving like this, just search on reddit or stackexchange. Chrome is not affected by this issue. The only workaround ATM for FF is to open search result links as a new tab.
