Flash content causes temporary freeze on BBC web pages
Whenever I access a BBC web page that includes Flash content, Firefox freezes for around 15 seconds. I am using the latest verions of Firefox and Flash Player.
This does not happen with Internet Explorer or Opera, and it doesn't happen when Firefox is in safe mode.
I have a number of add-ons installed (including Adblock Plus and Flashblock), but the freezes happen even when I have disabled every add-on (including these).
I have tried disabling hardware acceleration, but the "off" setting doesn't stick: if I leave the page and then return to it, hardware acceleration is re-enabled.
I am experiencing this problem on 2 different PCs: one is running Windows 7, and the other is a clean build of Windows 10.
Any suggestions would be welcomed!

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via *"3-bar" menu button > Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File > Exit
- Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox
- Linux: File > Quit
Thank you very much for the response.

I have followed your instructions; "Use hardware acceleration when available" was already unchecked.

I do not have the problem in safe mode, but I do have it with all add-ons disabled.
Any further suggestions would be very welcome.
