I am trying to move my wife from AOL to Firefox. She has hundreds of AOL Favorites that need to be exported be converted to bookmarks in Firefox and I prefer not spending several days doing it manually. I hope someone has a solution! She uses an HP desktop machine with windows 7 Home Premium.

You would think AOL would make it easy to find this information, but they must not want their users to leave.

This article lists the steps for exporting your AOL Favorites to a file named bookmarks.html, which might be the kind of bookmarks.html file that Firefox can import. It's worth a try.

Thanks so much for the help. I have tried several times (and several different ways) to follow the steps outlined in the document above, and I can't even get to the my.aol.com website in step 1. Very frustrating! Thanks for the suggestion.

Were you able to Sign In on the AOL 'homepage'? http://www.aol.com/

That might be the 'trick' to getting into her "My AOL". But I have a hunch that the website interface may have changed a bit from what that "How do I print AOL Favorite Places?" article shows.

I think Edmeister is right. Yes, I am able to sign in to aol.com, but it looks like "my aol" no longer exists as referenced in the article. I am still looking for another workaround. I CAN generate a .pfc file that contains the AOL favorites, and if I could convert that to html, perhaps I could import it into Firefox. Never give up, never surrender!

One place AOL calls them "Favorites" and elsewhere they call them "Bookmarks". And confusing everything is that once AOL had their own web browser - which is what most searches come up with instructions for when trying to learn how to "export". This "My AOL" seems to be something new last year - 2014.

The old ,pfc to bookmarks.html converter for the AOL browser bookmarks / favorites export in .pfc format - http://www.linkagogo.com/go/Convert?informat=aol&outformat=netscape - apperas to be gone.
