Two days ago I clicked on a box that came up while I was in my email (I thought it was asking me if I wanted to use threads to combine my emails, as I often get that question.) As a result I got an enormous amount of emails (25,000+) ending up in my trash. Much of that is spam. How do I resolve this? At this point I can't delete any new emails, as the trash is too full. I am guessing that the spam emails went into my trash by mistake. It is too laborious to go and move all the spam into the spam folder, and I don't want to delete all my old emails going back to 2011, as I like to search them from time to time when necessary.

Many thanks for any help! Molly

are you saying you do not want to empty your trash?

I did empty my trash (almost 25,000 emails! Mostly spam. I discovered that when the computer automatically asked me if I wanted to save emails as threads, that suddenly all my spam appeared in my trash. I a not impressed with thunderbird!

Please if you can duplicate it I will file a bug as soon as you post the steps so a developer can duplicate. If you can not, I doubt the connection. But then I have used Thunderbird for close to a decade and it has never asked me if I wanted to use Threads either.
