Hi there. I am having constant problems when trying to connect to www.pretty green.com.When going to check out it is telling me that the site is unsognes, unsecure and doesn't use encryption.Other people are not seeing this message. I have tried everything from reinstalling firefox to disabling ad ons etc. The website also say it is secure. Why will firefox not let me connect to it and why could it be showing as unsecure? Than you.

This site?

http://www.prettygreen.com/login/

I think there is a problem with the login page because when I try to change that to a secure page by inserting an s after http --

https://www.prettygreen.com/login/

-- it redirects back to the insecure version of the page.

I see the same behavior in Google Chrome.

Now, if I skip that and go to checkout, THEN I get a secure page here:

https://www.prettygreen.com/shop/checkout/login/

Do you get a nice green lock on that page? (Screen shot attached)

Is that where you get the error? If you are getting the error page with a Technical Details section, could you expand that and copy/paste what you find into a reply?

I'm still getting bthe unsecure/untrusted site when I go to your last link jscher2000.A couple of times I have had a secure connection but wih a blue sign(not green)and then it reverts back to the untrusted site in your second link. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling a fresh version of firefox. It's driving me mad now. Are you running the latest version 37.0? Thank you.

Here is the error I am seeing along with the image posted in the second link.

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.prettygreen.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

www.prettygreen.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.

(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

Thank you for the updates. Since the server seems to be set up correctly, the sec_error_unknown_issuer could indicate that your connection to the server is being intercepted.

One common reason for this is that you use software like avast! 2015, Kaspersky, ESET, or BitDefender that has a feature of scanning your web traffic for threats. Firefox might not be set up to work with that software. If this is the case, when you view the site's certificate in the Add Exception dialog or in another browser, it usually will say it was issued by your security software provider.

Another possible reason is a hijacked connection or malware.

To try to sort this out, on the error page, do you see a section at the bottom which says "I understand the risks" with an Add Exception button? If so, click Add Exception and then click "View" to view the certificate. You don't need to actually add an exception, it's better that you don't, but this is a way to see the certificate.

If you check the "Issued by" section, what do you see there? I have attached what I see in Firefox 37 for comparison. Also, does the certificate path (chain of trust) on the Details tab look like the attached?

If you can't use Add Exception for this, you can click the padlock in the address bar in a different browser and use its certificate viewer.

Hi Thank you for your help. I have tried it with avast disabled and it didn't change.I have also ran scans and had the malware forum on to it who have said it is not a malware issue. I tried what you said in the usecure section and clicked on add exception/view,and It was exactly the same as the picture in your attachament signed by twate. Why am I seeing this unsecure connection?
