I have tried every solution you have posted and Bing keeps coming up at startup. I have the latest as of about 5 minutes ago, I am running XP pro SP 3.
None of the solutions posted have eliminated Bing and I am seconds from telling Mozilla where they can stick Firefox and go to Chrome exclusively. I expect a definitive answer that will remove Bing from my system. It is not listed in programs, in add-ons or anywhere else on my machine so how does it even appear?? I have also not added any programs in the last few months but a week ago it started. Fix this or goodbye forever Firefox and I will recommend it to EVERYONE i know, most of which have already been telling me to switch to Chrome forever.

there are many applications which are pre-loaded with differnt web site toolbars to be installed during installation, and might be you have forgot to unchek this, try checking into unistall program list in control panel, or yu can do one thing, go into option menu of firefox and change your home page to "blank".

Search Bar - Home Page - New Tab page Or is a web page that contains a Bing search engine loading when you first open Firefox?

the-edmeister - It comes up when I open Firefox. Not a search bar. Tabs open up normally, no Bing. It is a web page, like Yahoo would be if I had it set as my home PAGE.

My mother just had this problem. After uninstalling a bunch of search malware, i was still seeing the bing tab come up on start up. The way I fixed this is to delete any shortcuts, remove it from the task bar and the start menu list. It appears this crappy malware modified the firefox and chrome(if installed) shortcuts to open bing.
Of course another way is to modify the shortcuts to remove the link that they added. It was easier for me to remove and just re-pin.
