For ages i have been trying to download addons for thunderbird (31.0, Linux i386)

For example i tried to download the British English dictionary but clicking on the download button does nothing

In the browser console there is always this error, when i try to download them

Timestamp: 26/08/14 03:37:02 Error: NS_ERROR_FACTORY_NOT_REGISTERED: Source File: https://addons.cdn.mozilla.net/static/js/impala-min.js?build=268b304-53ed3973 Line: 1

I have tried a new profile and starting with all installed addons disabled but to no avail, this problem not only occurred on my current distro (Ubuntustudio 14.04 i386) but also on Mint 16 64bit (on another system) and xubuntu 14.04 before that.

Each time i reinstalled thunderbird, trying to download addons by using the addons page has failed.

I've found out that i can right-click the download button and use the "save link as" function to download the addons, they can then be local installed from file.

This is a workaround that works, but still doesn't address the issue of the download button on the page not working on multiple versions of thunderbird.

Marked as solved b/c of workaround.
