Details like websites remembering you (log you in automatically) are stored in a cookie.

You can clear those cookies to make the website forget about you.

  • Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location bar
  • Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
  • Click "View Cookies" to view the cookies for the domain in the currently selected tab

Make sure to look for a check-box on the page with the login form about the website remember. On some websites (e.g. Gmail) this box has a tick by default.

It says the password isn't saved.

And I deleted the cookies associated with it, and the log-in info is STILL coming up!

Just to be sure:

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?

Does this also happen in a new Private Browsing mode window?

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

There are no passwords saved in Password Manager, I've deleted all cookies and the cookies.sqlite and all cookies in the folder. But several sites are STILL automatically entering my email and password.

It is possible that the user name (e-mail) is saved as form data, but a password is never saved as form data.

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry
