What is the exact error you are getting?

When the reply to an email is composed and sent. the error message says "Mail was not sent due to an error that occurred"

The message says mail not sent due to an error.

You should contact AOL for support. This isn't a Firefox issue.. Actually scratch that.

Has this happened previously or just happened after doing the 29.0.1 upgrade?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

• Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
• Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
• Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

• The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Options/Preferences> Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

• The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Options/Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I did contact AOL and went thru the steps with the tech support person but still have the problem, their response was they would investigate and get back within 72 hours. Not a satisfactory answer for me!

Will try to get thru your instructions, altho not that computer savvy.
