I recently installed the 8.01 upgrade of Firefox on my laptop. Ever since the upgrade completed, when I click the Firefox icon nothing happens. No error message, no firefox.exe running in Task Manager, nothing.

I've tried:

  • -restarting the computer
  • -uninstalling and reinstalling the application
  • -running "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p to access profile manager as per a support article (profile manager won't launch at all either)
  • -reinstalling the upgrade over the top of existing install

Really hoping someone can help me fix this problem. This is a work laptop that has Internet Explorer 6 installed as part of the standard build (ugh!) and Firefox is the only browser that will correctly display the web app that I work with on a daily basis.
