When I click the red X in the upper right hand corner of a Fire Fox screen , the choice I get is to clsoe multiple tabs or cancel the activity. How can I close just one tab?
I often would like to just go back 1 or 2 screens or 1 or two taabs but I am not given that choice and I have to start Fire3fox over again. When I'm in this dilema, the black back arrow is greyed out in upper left of screen.

Thanks for the help! It solved it for me. I added the Backward Forward History Drop drop-down as well.

The tab you are on will show a cross, click that to close it. When you wish to exit firefox itself do not use the system cross on the top right of the window
- use the firefox menu Firefox Button -> [] exit
The back & forward button will show a list of previous tabs if you right click it or pull it down with the mouse.

The arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
Use one of these methods to open the tab history list:
- Right click on the Back or Forward button
- Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens
You can look at this extension:
- Backward Forward History Dropdown: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforedrop/
