Mozilla Firefox 4.0 doesn't support PPC Mac's or versions prior to 10.5.
For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 .

I had the same issue after I installed Firefox 4. After I restarted my Mac, I saw the firefox icon appear.
Nope, icon that appeared was Ffox w/circle and line and message saying that my OS (Mac X 10.4.11) didn't support this application......yet in checking the system requirements my OS does meet requirements...............I have tried this download for Ffox 4 several more times and I still get the same icon and message.........so any solutions?????
Any other Mac X 10.4.11 systems that aren't able to get Ffox 4?
thx. Weidner

I have a few issues with how firefox has written their support pages on this topic.
Specifically
1. On the system requirements page, they list an intel machine as recommended hardware, but not that is it required.
2. On the download links, they have the universal binary symbol for the mac version. (the universal binary icon is used to designate that the application will work on both intel and PPC hardware.

Since Firefox 4 does not support PPC, they should make this much more clear in their support pages.
Also I have had a number of machines automatically update to version 4 on a PPC machine. If it is not supported for the PPC it should not automatically update itself to a version that is designed to not work on that machine.

I have the same problem. I can't figure it out. I have followed their trouble-shooting guide with no luck/\.
