I have my browser set to remember tabs on exit; whenever I leave a blank tab, I see the "Well, this is embarrassing" message.

I don't know how much more I can say besides what I've said in the title: when I close all my tabs so only a blank tab remains, I get the "Well, this is embarrassing" message.

It's trivial to hit the Restore button or type the URL in my address bar, but it shouldn't be necessary to.

By the way, I was going to post this on Bugzilla, but it's been down all day.

This issue can be caused by an extension or plugin that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
