If I store my default profile on my NAS, can I sync it with a second profile for the same installation for use when I'm away from my LAN?

Also, if away from my LAN (thus Firefox would be unable to find my default profile), would the local profile open or would an error message appear and require me to open the Profile Manager?

A solution could be using one of the many Sync add-ons for this purpose, like the Firefox Sync add-on. Alternately you could use an extension like FEBE to back up your profile and restore it while on the go.
