I use Thunderbird as my client for Comcast email, using IMAP protocol. Lately I've noticed that almost daily I'll get new email in my inbox, with said email having an old date. For instance, today (March 3) I received a 'new' email dated 2/6/2017. The email itself was totally bogus, but I'm curious as to how it shows up with such a date.

Just had another occurance, and this time I logged on to the comcast/xfinity mail server via Firefox to check the email there. In T-bird the email showed a timestamp of 7/28/2021 07:02AM but on the server it shows today (3/6/2022) at 2:33 AM. Why the discrepancy?
