I accidentally deleted all of my youtube browsing history, and can't find a single way to restore it. I am on Firefox version 90.0.2 (20210721174149), and if anyone could help me that would be great! (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1290163 isn't of any help)

Hi TheWaddleDee,

Follow the step resolve the problem easily. Restore Firefox History Using Backup Copies Backup copies of deleted Firefox history are stored in hidden files named as index.dat files. If you have accidentally delete Firefox history, you can recover it by locating the index.dat file.

1. Click "Start" > "Search" > "Tools" > "Folder Options." 2. Click "View" > select "Show hidden files and folders" > uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected operating system files". 3. Click search in "All Files and Folders" in the C Drive > type index.dat in search bar > click "Search". 4. Download and install index.dat file reader on your PC if you don't have one. 5. Open index.dat file within the reader > Click on the Firefox browsing history you want to restore > Click "Restore". 6. Then you can open your Firefox browser to check all your restored history now.

I'm sorry, but could you explain the solution in more detail? I don't understand. Maybe you could tell me what index.dat file to look for, and what index.dat file reader I can download.

Firefox stores the bookmarks and history in places.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder and doesn't have a backup for the history like there is for the bookmarks. This means that deleted history is gone unless you have an older copy of places.sqlite.

You can look at a utility to browse System Restore points.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
