Cannot type letter Q (weird bug!)
Hey guys,
I have noticed something really strange. In some cases I cannot type the letter q in 'search box fields' on websites. This does not happen all the time, but it happens occasionally. I actually broke my previous keyboard because of this issue. I was trying to type a word with the letter Q. It would not appear, I thought there is something wrong with the keyboard (maybe dust or something). So I took out the key and never was able to put it back the way it was. Now I got a new keyboard and it happens again. Only the letter Q, only in firefox, only in some search field boxxes (for example not the search field on this website, but on google yes) > See added screenshot to explain. I can type the 'q' in the website url field, but not in the google search field. So weird! In edge or chrome it works fine. So it must be a firefox problem right?

Hmm, that's strange. The screenshot shows the q went into the address bar instead of the search box in the page. I don't think a web page could do that, so somehow Firefox must have had the focus up there for a split second before it moved into the page.
How did you load the Google page? I think the only page load that normally leaves the cursor in the address bar is the new tab page.
There are some websites which rely on a pre-Firefox 66 behavior to handle certain keys and are broken in Firefox 66. I don't think that affects Google, but I'll provide the info anyway:
The host names of known sites are listed in this preference, and you can add others:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste hack and pause while the list is filtered
(3) The dom.keyboardevent.keypress.hack.use_legacy_keycode_and_charcode preference lists servers on which Firefox will send scripts in the page older style keyboard events.
