I updated firefox on my iphone 6S to Version 14.0. (ios 12.1.1.). I don't know the old firefox version, might be several numbers before. After the update all my tabs are gone. Some are very, very important to me - I defenetly need to get them back! I have sync but in firefox of the mac only the tabs after the ios firefox update are shows.

I need to restore my tabs on the iphone. How can I do that? Please help, it's really urgent!

Hi, absolutely agree that Firefox upgrade should not delete all the tabs that you have.

I can’t really think of any other practical way besides searching back your link from the history. I’m afraid you can’t really downgrade your iOS Firefox.

Do you remember part of the url? Domain name for example? That would ease a lot for the searching. The next time you find it, don’t forget to bookmark it, or keep inside Pocket.

Cheers

Hi sorry to hear that. Have you checked your browsing history? Firefox update should not clear your browsing history.

If you are logged-in into your FF account both on your iPhone and Mac, then all histories should be synced as well. You can check your Mac’s browser history to search.

Hi, thanks a lot for the fast reply.

Yes, It seems that the Mac shows also the history of the iphone. I have to say that I had many open tabs and in the history is of both, Mac and iphone websites.. The history is very, very, very.... long. So to find the few really needed tabs there is to look for a needle(s) in a haystack It will take ages.

Can an firefox update really just delete all my tabs? I mean we are not in year 2000 something... How can that be?

Is there a way to restore the tabs? Or to "downgrade" firefox and to get the old tabs back?

Any suggestion for a practical way really help

Hello. yeah, I gotta find a better solution for the future, true.

I read about deinstalling and app in ios and then reinstalling an older version through itunes. But my MacOs 10.11.6. itunes doesn't show "apps" on my iphone where this should be possible.

Any ideas? Does anybody know if this way of reinstalling an app was in older itunes version or do I need to update my MacOS?

In itunes, in "file sharing" for my iphone I find Firefox in the app list and a file "tabsState.archive" from yesterday. So that file is from before I made the update.

Does anybody know how I can open or import that file somewhere? Maybe thats an workaround...

Many thanks!
