Trying to add my Yahoo mail account, I get none of my details wrong, why does it say configuration could not be verified?
I correctly enter my Yahoo e-mail address into the automatic mail account setup process as well as my correct password (which I have ensured is correct by logging out and back into my Yahoo Mail account) and yet to no success I am always left with the same error: "Configuration could not be verified - is the user name or password wrong?"
I have gone into my Yahoo Mail account settings and enabled the POP setting on the account and I am selecting the POP3 option when I try to add the account, I have also successfully added my various Gmail accounts to Thunderbird, as well as successfully adding another family members Yahoo Mail account to thunderbird, yet my account won't despite the correct settings and details?
I'm completely clueless on what else I can do, does anyone know whats going wrong here?
(The attached photo is to confirm that I have the setting selected on Yahoo)

SO let me get this right> You have a number of Gmail and one other yahoo account working fine and getting mail in Thunderbird?
I would suggest if that is the case your anti virus is probably causing the issue. Thunderbird tries to confirm the connection setting by logging in and your anti virus decides it needs to scan those emails and looses the all important connection information relied on in the setup process.
Disable email scanning for the moment and reboot your computer. Remember if you have to disable your anti virus defender then kicks in and could cause you exactly the same issue. (except in this case I don't think it scans emails.
Yes I have 4 Gmail accounts so far and I tested a family members Yahoo on thunderbird to see if it was exclusively a Yahoo to Thunderbird problem which isn't the case as it connected fine without problems. On the same computer without changing any settings I try and connect my own Yahoo account and it fails everytime. The username/e-mail address and password are 100% correct, I let Thunderbird autofill the settings and still no luck.
Just a thought... are you using two factor authentication and have neglected to create an app password for Thunderbird?
When I got this computer new, I set up thunderbird and entered my various email accounts. Sometime in Sept this year, that account (on yahoo) stopped receiving mail. My other yahoo account continues to function properly. I even changed the password for Yahoo and this email account but thumderbird still gives the cannot be verrified message.
