Firefox doesn't detect that an update is available.

On a particular PC I am using (Windows 7), I have Firefox 34.0 installed. The About Mozilla Firefox dialog shows that I have version "34.0" installed, and indicates that "Firefox is up to date." However, on another PC, also running Windows 7, I have already been updated to version 34.0.5. So I know 34.0 is not the most recent version.

I know I can simply download and install version 34.0.5, but I'd like to know why the update feature isn't working.

Additional information: When I visit https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ I am told "Congrats! You’re using the latest version of Firefox. " Strange.
