Why does it open another icon in the taskbar?

I have always had Firefox pinned to my taskbar and when I open it it used to open that pinned icon. With the new upgrade it is opening a completely new icon on my taskbar, thus making it two separate icons and cluttering things up. How can I make it go back the way it was?

Fixed it by unpinning the icon and repinning the icon. It is all good now.

Thanks

Normally, the pinned Firefox icon behaves like other applications' pinned icons. I'm assuming you don't see anything abnormal with the others that would lead to checking some Windows settings.

When this happens, is the second Firefox window starting from the pinned icon or through another method, such as a link in email or Adobe Reader?

From clicking on the pinned and/or when a link is clicked on in an email.
