Why can't I download Ghostery?
I have tried to download Ghostery. Firefox is blocking it. Is there another website like Ghostery that can protect my privacy?

hello maalderman13, yes this mozilla's support - however it's a forum by volunteer contributors and no live chat, so be a little bit patient until someone replies (you will be notified via mail about that). thank you!
Have you tried installing Ghostery from here? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/
Yes and I still get the same message.
And to make matters worse, I went to download mozilla's own program and I get a message that says it's not safe to enter website.

what's the exact error code shown under technical details?
please also make sure that your system clock is set to the correct date, time & timezone!
It says ghostery can not be installed because Firefox can not modify the file. My time and date is correct not that that would be a reason. When I had Chrome, I had no problem.
And then I went to download another add-on for protection that is listed for firefox/mozilla and my computer froze. This is non-sense now.
hello, please reset firefox and see if this can address the issue...
I fixed it. I DELETED FIREFOX AND WENT BACH TO CHROME. Now everything is working. I could not log on to FB pages either with firefox. I do not have time to waste and will not. Thanks but seriously, there was no help here whatsoever either.,
Two very experienced users attempted to help you, and yet you say there was no help here whatsoever.
Seriously??? To tell me the check my time and date and the site I already used and that's helping me??
This is not my first day at the rodeo. But Firefox slowed everything down as well as shut me out of my usual sites. Thanks but I have moved on. Ba bye!
Are you running Firefox in compatibility mode because your user agent shows Windows NT 4.0?
You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab. Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

Why not remove this support site if you're not going to monitor it?
I have gone crazy trying to fix Fire Fox - error messages (script stopped) crashes, hanging, Ghostery simply appeared/like it/ then it disappeared. Now can't down load it.
I'd gladly pay to get support, rather than spend hours trying to figure out what's wrong. Came here for support and guess what - no one is here. No support!
Platham this is a users helping user community support forum. The OP got impatient and thought this was a instant chat or such initially and not a forum where replies can take minute to hours and sometime longer.
There is support, you just needed to make a question https://support.mozilla.org/questions/new detailing what your problem is and what you have done and then be patient.
In fact you posted a thread almost a year ago and got a reply within thirteen minutes yet you never responded and the thread has since been archived due to age, https://support.mozilla.org/questions/981311
