"browse-search.com"
I errantly downloaded a program/virus/nusance that changed my home page to browse-search.com. I have gone in and uninstalled the programs through control panel. I have also did a restore to default through the Firefox troubleshooting page. Things seem to fine, but I want to be sure all possible threats are gone. What else can I do to be sure? I looked for advice on the web, but seemed to run into ads and a program that windows said did not have a certificate. I just want to be sure all is gone. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium ver. 6.0

I'm on the Linux platform and not on Windows, so can't install and run programs for Windows.
If you downloaed ADWCleaner from a trusted source then you can accept that warning and install the program.

I did find this while searching for solutions, and it helped me go through steps 1 & 2. When I started to download ADWCleaner, I got a message that Microsoft did not recognize the certificate I thought that I may be going from one problem to another. Is this program, as well as the other two they mention safe? Have you used any before. Just trying to be careful.
