Hi Tom, I don't see the attachments, but I get the idea.

My guess is that the request is being sent by Firefox and delayed or diverted somewhere outside of Firefox, so the console doesn't show any response code (such as 404 Not Found) but perhaps is still waiting. I can't think of any setting in Firefox that would do that.

What happens if you try to load the link directly? https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/static/css/common-min.css?build=aa09725

You would expect to see a page of style rules all run together. Does that load?

Haleluyah jscher2000 Not only the css page loaded (see attachment) as well as your answer page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/974585?page=2#answer-493051 now shows in graphical mode, All pages from <support.mozilla.org> now show loaded in graphical mode. Nevertheless, there are pages from other servers which still show in text (e.g. www.mozilla.org) .BUT if I load the css link (as you recommended in this answer) and then regenerate the page it shows in graphical mode. Question: what has changed to do that? Once again many thanks for your persistent help All the best Tom

That's strange, almost like your computer did not trust those sites until you visited them directly. There is an option for third party cookies -- not to set them unless you have visited the site directly -- but I'd be surprised if that caused this serious a problem. Mysterious.

Hello jscher2000, The trick seems to work. Each time I get a text page I go to the css Style Editor, run a style (any) and the page becomes graphical. Regards Tom

BTW, this reply page now is graphical it used to be in text.

If it happens again then you can try some basic steps.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Hi castlesinspain, it sounds like your question is different than the one asked by the original poster here. Could you start a new question?

  • For your security/spyware issue, or how to get Flash for your version of Android, you should try an Android-specific forum. For example, on Android Central, there generally are forums for different devices, as well as more general forums, and that's just one of many helpful sites. http://forums.androidcentral.com/

Hello jscher2000 Remember me? :-) The problem I submitted seems to be partially resolved. Each time I get a textual page all I have to do is to find any javascript on the page's source code and then execute it inside Firefox. Then the refreshed page returns in graphical mode and from there on it will always show in that mode. Strange but it does works. I thought you would like to know this. All the best Tom

Hi Tom, I'm glad you're able to tolerate that, but sorry we didn't solve the mystery of what is blocking those external resources. Could it be a setting in AVG somewhere (outside of Firefox)?
