When i click to to open firefox the page(homepage)overlaps the toolbar at the top of the screen.I have been using the yahoo toolbar which works perfectly, the only problem is this overlapping of the search box/website icons. It is strange as at this exact moment as i am typing this question it is pretty much parallel but when i click back it will move up again, covering half the toolbar again.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
