How do I get a G-mail toggle, for quick axcess, onto the MozillaFirefox start page?
Question number 1. How do I get a G-mail toggle, for quick axcess, onto the MozillaFirefox start page? I have to go to Bookmarks an down to "M Gmail: Email from Google" to get to my e-mail, it used to be automatic.
Question number 2. Why isn't there a little x in a box on the right end of every "TAB" bar, including the leftmost "TAB" bar? Right now you have to log out of Mozilla Firefox and start over every time you are sent somewhere you didn't want to go! The old system is better!
Question number 3. Why isn't there any green {BACK} or {Forward} buttons by the "TAB" bars, like there used to be? It was nice having some control of where you are. Right now you have to log out of Mozilla Firefox and start over every time you are sent somewhere you didn't want to go! The old system is better!

Why bother with juggling a home page between urls. Simply create bookmarks for what you want and give them each a keyword shortcut.
Make your homepage whatever you want it to be.
You can bring up the Firefox version 4 home page with about:home, you can bring up your previous session through the History menu -- "Alt+H" > Restore previous session
You can bring up GMail with a bookmark, specifically a keyword bookmark so all you need to do is type in the keyword shortcut calling it any name you want, or give it a very short name and place it on the bookmarks toolbar.
- name: gmail: (standard) Gmail - Inbox (white) Standard
- Location: javascript:void(window.open(location.href="https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=html&zy=s"))
- Keyword: gmail:
- Description: https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=html&zy=s
As far as your Q1 - Q3 questions go, you can customize Firefox however you like.
- Q1: you can't toggle home pages, but you can use keyboard shortcuts. Your old home page was a Google search page, and that would have a link for GMail, once you had gone to GMail then it would be a choice from then on. That is still an option.
- Q2: For the tab close buttons see item #35 and your choices of settings
- Q3: You can move the Back/Forward in customize wherever you want, right-click on the buttons to bring up the context menu (oldest items on bottom)
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)

YOUR SOLUTION WAS INCOMPREHENSIBLE. YOU SPEAK IN TERMS THAT HAVE NO MEANING IN THE REAL WORLD. I'M NOT FROM YOUR COUNTRY, SO I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOUR STRANGE REFERENCES TO UNKNOWN WORDS MEAN. PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH.
A DIAGRAM, LARGE PRINT, THAT WOULD FIT ONTO ONE PAGE, WOULD BEGIN TO CREATE A COMMON REFERENCE POINT THAT WOULD HELP CUT THROUGH THE GIBBERISH. HAVING EACH EXPLANATION POINTED OUT BY EXAMPLE, WHEN HIGHLIGHTED, FROM A LIST, TO THE SIDE (RIGHT OR LEFT), AWAY FROM THE ITEM HIGHLIGHTED'S LOCATION SO AS NOT TO INTERFERE WITH THE DEMONSTRATED EXPLANATION, THAT WOULD HELP.
DIAGRAM MEANING A PICTURE OF MOZILLA FIREFOX'S START-UP/HOME? PAGE.
I can't read all caps -- in my country that is not proper English.
The best I can do is to attach a picture of a bookmark below my reply which you will have to click on - that is how things work here. I can't compose a page with text that surrounds an image on the left, these are not HTML pages, nor do we normally include images, except when it really helps. The text in the bookmark is truncated and I can't enlarge the box to show you all of the text -- but all of the information was included in the text of my reply.
This bookmark would be invoked from the location by typing in "GMail:" from any webpage -- nothing to to do with a home page.
If you want an extension to add an icon to your toolbar or add-ons bar at the bottom, install an extension.
