I had a severe crash and went back to a January 2011 restore point for my Windows 7 desktop. Since restarting I have not been able to open more than one window of Firefox as I customarily do. I have updated to Firefox 3.6.15, but this did not fix the problem.

I don't have any specific suggestions about the problem. Though I suspect the basic troubleshooting steps http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+troubleshooting may get Firefox back in working order.

The troubleshooting procedure led me to identify the problem as due to one of a set of no longer used add-ons extensions. With them disabled, the problem disappeared. Thank you for your suggestion.
