Forefox causes computer to crash
I installed the latest version of FF which is 3.6.14 and my computer started crashing with blue screen forcong me to restart and uninstall it, then I went back to 3.6.13 and it started crashing if I opened it. I tried to uninstall that one and it crashed attempting it. So, I just used IE 8 all morning and the computer has not crashed. I have not attempted to open it at all. Something has happened ever since I installed the latest version of FF. If anyone else is having this problem, then please let me know. I was going to reinstall after removal, but thought I should check to see if anytone else has this problem. My computer crashed a total of four times in a 12 hour period.

I am experiencing the same issue with FF 3.6.14 I got the upgrade, and then it started crashing continually except in safe mode. All my add ons worked happily together before, but now none will- and even when they are disabled, it still crashes. After a few sessions in safe, it began crashing- and then blue screening- when running in safe mode. I uninstalled & reinstalled (thru IE) a fresh copy. It opened once maybe twice in safe mode with a fresh copy but now, again, it will not even open without going directly to the crash reporter. Sometimes it just blue screens. I am forced to use IE to get on the internet at all. I did have occasional crashes before .14 but now its continual. I am using Win 7 pro 64 bit. Is there an issue with 64 bit? Is it my bookmarks? I hate to rebuild that file- it is very large.

OH and fyi the "help" links are useless- if you go to "firefox crashes" you are told to jump to a similar topic like "if firefox wont open", then another "crashes on start" or something, (I didnt write them down) and lastly, it brings you right back to the 1st link you started with. It never gets to more help, it only loops you through the same links. Theres only additional help if you say the browser actually opens. If not, youre stuck in the loop. =P
You and I are in the same boat with an SOS and we are SOL it seems for the moment. Perhaps this is a common problem and Mozilla needs to create a patch or something because it is caused by this new version of FF, 3.6.14, but once you install, even removing it and reinstalling the older stable version will not work. Why is that do you wonder?
I am using IE 8 as well. I use FF for security purposes. I feel like I downgraded from a Porsche to Fiat. If I figure it out, then I will post it. Please do the same for me. I have a feeling this problem will be growing quite quickly because i doubt we are alone of this one. FYI, I am using a 32 bit Vista Home Basic so it isn't just the 64 bit. I was thinking of trying an older version and start tinkering with it. In the future I am going to wait about upgrading.
