Bookmarks dropdown window on menu bar is missing
My bookmarks are not missing because I can access them via the sidebar.
However, I prefer the dropdown box on the Menu Bar for my Bookmarks. It's easier for me.
The Bookmarks dropdown box has disappeared and I cannot determine how to restore it on the Menu Bar. The Menu Bar is still showing and not hidden... just no bookmarks.
Any help is appreciated. Carl

Do you have the Delicious extension installed?
If so, look at the Options for that extension for the one that hides the Menu bar item for Bookmarks.

Or open the Delicious menu and look at the bottom of that menu.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems
Delicious extension was the problem. Thanks everyone for the heads up....
I don't run any extenssions to Firefox but have the same problem, and others. After installing FF 3.5.10 on my Windows XP PC, the bookmark symbol did not appear on the right hand end of the URL line until after I clicked on the bookmarks dropdown link. And I think the bookmarking then didn't work properly anyway... can't say for sure because since then FF has refused to open, giving me a code error message instead. The other problem I also had before it stopped opening altogether was that my browser back and forward arrows (top left) ceased to work; if I clicked a link on a web page, I could never go back to the original page. The code error message seems to reference Chrome, which I assume is a reference to the Google Chrome browser -- but I have never had that on my machine either. The full text of the error message which is all I have left of my FF browser is cut and pasted below. Is there a fix or should I reinstal FF... and should I first use REMOVE PROGRAMS to get rid of then original Mozille Firefox installation? Error message begins... XML Parsing Error: not well-formed Location: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul Line Number 1191, Column 20: utton id="back-forward-dropmarker" type="menu" chromedir="&locale.dir;"
^
...Error message ends. Please help, many thanks,
NOEL
I have the same problem - slightly different text. My error message (XP Pro) is "XML Parsing Error: not well-formed Location: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul Line Number 1191, Column 29: FileHistoryMenu(event.target);" Have extensions installed for Norton IPS 2.0, Skype 4.2.0.5198, and TranslatorBar 1.2 Toolbar 2.7.2.0.
Happens whenever Firefox is accessed via another program. Sometimes the program still works (e.g. Eudora, clicking on link) and sometimes not (e.g. Epson Printer software)
I've decided to default to IE until there is a fix for this.
Additional info - Firefox will not start. Get same error message. IE works fine.
