Manually rearranged bookmarks

more options

I've manually rearranged my bookmarks in the Library window by following the steps shown in the "Rearranging manually" section of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sort-bookmarks-quickly-find-ones-you-want#w_rearranging-manually

  • How can I get the new arrangement to be displayed in the "Recently Bookmarked" window?

or

  • Can I delete the "Recently Bookmarked" window so the manually-rearranged bookmarks in the Library window are displayed in the "Recently Bookmarked" window?

"Recently Bookmarked" is like a survey of recently saved bookmarks. No real "folder" or method for the user to affect that. "Time" and user actions will change that. It is a "Smart folder".

POS - IMO. First thing I delete in a new Profile. I don't even use the (Ctrl + D) / "Save a new Bookmark" feature at all. Just "Drag'n'Drop" a "new bookmark" into a folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar or the Bookmarks Sidebar; dislike all the 'newfangled' feature, still stuck in the IE5.5 / Firefox 1.0 era.

And rearrangement doesn't affect Recently Bookmarked "folder" or the former Unsorted Bookmarks folder that was previously used and was replaced by "Recently".

I'd like go directly to the bookmarks in the "Show all bookmarks" page

"Show All Bookmarks" always starts in the "Other Bookmarks" category, which doesn't have its own toolbar button. The optional "Bookmarks Menu button" () does have a fly-out list for Other Bookmarks so you could try that one. To add that button, either:

(A) Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to drag the icon to the desired spot on the toolbar

(B) Use the method from Bookmarks in Firefox - section entitled: How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?

  • Click the "Library" button:
  • Click "Bookmarks"
  • Click "Bookmarking Tools"
  • Click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"

Why doesn't the "Recently Bookmarked" page show the bookmarks I've accessed most recently?

It lists recently added bookmarks, not recently visited bookmarked sites.

I don't care which bookmarks were recently added.

Me neither, most of the time.

I moved the Library button to the Overflow list (right-click > Pin to Overflow menu) and I use the Bookmarks Menu button instead.
