Firefox crashes
After I updated an add-on (Flash) that was suggested by Firefox, I have not been able to start Firefox. It crashes on startup every time. I have gone through each of the suggestions on how to fix it but none have worked. I have even tried to open Firefox in safe mode but it still crashes on launch. I have also tried to go through the refresh process and it still crashes. Finally, I have even deleted the application and re-downloaded it. It seems to install fine, but still crashes when launched.

I would appreciate any other suggestions. Thanks.

How were you told to update flash?
There are many 'bad' update notices out there that says something needs to be updated, But what it does is to infect your system.
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
Thanks for the suggestions, but no luck.
It was the the Firefox browser that told me to update Flash. I was looking at what add-ons were installed and next to Flash it said it needed an update. I don't remember exactly what it said, but I believe it said that it was a "necessary" update. I clicked there to get the update. Immediately after the update, I started having troubles.
I tried to start Firefox while in Safe Mode, but it still crashed before starting. I also ran several malware/virus scans and nothing was found. Finally, I went into Terminal and set up a new user profile and then tried to start Firefox with the new profile, but no luck. It still crashed before the application would open.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks. This solved my problem. I searched for the file name "fbplugin_1_0_1.plugin" and deleted it. Everything worked fine after that. Thanks for your help.
