ruin the bookmarks - no descrition field any more!
in the newest Update Mozilla removed the description field for bookmarks.
why did they do that? How can I use those information about the favorites in the future?

The reason for removing that is all annotations are being removed to allow for async to be used for Containers. And the Bug to remove Descriptions was filed like 7 years ago, so this removal situation had been in the works for a long time. Plus the percentage of users of that field was like 2% per the metrics that Mozilla testing retrieved.
It is possible that there may be a way to save Descriptions in the future if an add-on is created to take advantage of a new API, along with the newer description field in moz_places that features such as Activity Stream use. Currently their is no user access to using that field, hence the need an add-on.

The description field has only been removed from the user interface in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) for now. This description field is still present in the places.sqlite database and you can export the bookmarks to an HTML file or create a JSON backup to have a backup copy that includes the descriptions.
There are a lot of treads about this change that is also mentioned in the Firefox Release Notes.

But I need the description (usually the username + password) during the browser session.
There is no reason to reduce the functionality of the browser. . . . Are there no goals for further development anymore?

Thank you
Only 2% of users... supposedly 3.2 billion people use the Internet and 5% are using Mozilla Firefox of which 2% used this feature. So the change has only affected 3.2 million people. Even if that's a wild overestimate and we reduce it to 10%, that's still 320,000 people who don't know what happened to their data. What percentage of that group has the tech skills and persistence to search about the problem, discover a solution and implement it in a reasonably efficient manner?

I also regret that description has been removed from the FF. It was one of the great feature which made FF greater than Opera or Chrome!
