What security software do you use? Do you have the ability to research that detection in more detail to see what caused it?
A .lnk extension (LNK not INK) refers to a program shortcut. Actually, a .lnk file is just a small text file that Windows handles in a special way.
You could take a closer look at your shortcut now to see whether it is hijacked. Either:
- Desktop shortcut: right-click the icon, choose Properties
- Pinned taskbar icon: right-click the icon, right-click Mozilla Firefox, choose Properties
Windows normally will select the Shortcut tab. If not, go ahead and click the Shortcut tab.
The Target line should not have anything after this part:
- 32-bit Firefox on 64-bit Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
- Otherwise: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
If anything is listed after that, clear it out and save your change. To test, you can either:
- Desktop shortcut: double-click the icon to launch a new window
- Pinned taskbar icon: right-click the icon, click Mozilla Firefox to launch a new window
If you get a normal startup -- you would expect to see the built-in Firefox home page with a blank address bar -- it's fine.

The browser is Mozilla Firefox or Firefox for short. Mozilla is who makes Firefox.
If you downloaded Firefox from www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ then Firefox did not come with any viruses.
It is not uncommon for certain antivirus clients to get false positives with the smaller Firefox stub installer but not full setup. Or to claim a clean file is possibly infected after a Firefox install.
Check for definition updates in your antivirus.
