I changed my language settings to Spanish about a year ago for Spanish class to proofread an assignment. When I was finished, I changed it back. Now about twice a day, the browser takes it upon itself to change the language back to Spanish. This is highly irritating. You guys need to fix this with the quickness.

edit: changed a word back to Firefox in subject due to keep it clean.

First, let's do a little clean up. Check to make sure that you do not have more than on install of Flash. Second, does this happen in Safe Mode? If you have identified that Fireprick is the root cause and not another customization I might check to see if the default language is different on another computer that is syncing to your sync account.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Note: Edge on Win10 does not use ActiveX version but its own Flash.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Flash Player Version 19.0.0.245

Note: Windows users should download the ‘’’active_x’’’ for “Internet Explorer,” and the ‘’’plugin’’’ for “Plugin-based browsers” (like Firefox).

Adobe still offers Flash 18.0.0.255 as its extended support release further down

You can rename (or delete) the content-prefs.sqlite file (content-prefs.sqlite.old) in the Firefox profile folder to reset website specific data.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
