"Sending of message failed"
For the last month I am unable to send messages. The error message says that the server timed out. I have contacted my ISP provider but they are unable to find the problem. I have deleted and re-installed Thunderbird with no results. I have followed all the tips from the support section.(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-send-messages) I am running Win 7. My ISP provider is Bell Fibe. My mail provider is Bell. Firewall and anti-virus is Bitdefender Internet Security 2015.

Try to start *Windows* in safe mode with networking enabled.
- Win8 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
- Win7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
- XP http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx
Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in safe mode.

Does the problem go away?

I have finally found the issue. Bell Fibe has switched their email service to outlook and POP3 is not the main protocol. I found this out by funneling through their FAQ/email issues. I found the proper settings for the servers and all is good. I have spoken to their tech support many times during the issue and not one of them even mentioned this info. Great customer support!!!!!!!. Wait to they hear from me Sorry...just venting. thanks for the support. Much appreciated
Typical for most provider help desks. I wish I had a dollar for every person that comes here claiming that their provider confirmed that all their settings were OK only to fix they settings to get them working. It seems that the only requirement to get hired on a help desk is to know enough to pick up the phone if it makes a noise.
