I switched from an ATI video card to an Nvidia GeForce GT620 card yesterday and now whenever I use Firefox, when i scroll or when the browser is loading or "thinking," the speakers make a crackling noise when music is playing. If I pause the Windows Media player or Zune software and scroll around I don't hear any noise but as soon as the music is playing and then scroll, its all crackle-y.

The issue does not happen in Chrome or IE 11, only firefox I'm running Windows 7 32-bit.

I just found that scrolling in Outlook also makes the noise so its not just Mozilla FireFox.

hello, maybe firefox uses "more/different" hardware acceleration - can you test if you can replicate the issue when you launch firefox in safemode once?: Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems

I replaced the card with an AMD based card, the Diamond Radeon HD6450 and it works great with my dual monitors and makes no noise.
