I have a MacBook Pro and am running version 10.6.6. I have been using Firefox on my computer for couple of years and have downloaded upgrades with no problems. Today I downloaded an update and tried moving it to my application folder like the instructions direct. I get a dialogue box that pops up telling me: "An older version named "Firefox"already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the newer one you're moving?" I then click replace because the only other option is stop. Then another dialogue box pops up: "The operation can't be completed because the item "libsmime3.dylib" is in use" I don't know what this means and now I can't use Firefox and it won't allow me to download the newest version. Can anyone help?

  • Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded.
