OAuth or not?
Does Thunderbird v102 use OAuth or not? I am trying to resolve a password conflict between Thunderbird and AT&T email. A few years ago ATT started requiring a Secure Key to in order for Thunderbird to access their server. That key has been my password for TB. I used a different PW for the ATT/Yahoo email. Starting a few months ago ATT/Yahoo started rejecting my PW every time I try to log in. I have to go through the PW reset every time in order to log in. The Secure Key for TB still works. ATT support has been no help in resolving the PW reject problem. I just read a reply to a question about a TB log in problem that stated that TB 102 uses OAuth and to NOT use the Secure Key. Is this correct or is a Secure Key still needed? If TB now uses OAuth do I need to re-install TB (currently have 102.5) to use OAuth?

TB supports OAuth2 authentication for a few providers like gmail, AOL, Yahoo, but not for AT&T accounts set up on att.net servers listed here:

Those accounts require a secure mail key with 'normal password' authentication, as you have noted. As for logging in to the account through the AT&T/Yahoo site, many users seem to have issues with passwords, but that is beyond the control of TB.
Thanks to both David & sfnowes. Both answers helpful although sfnowes' was most direct regarding OAuth question. I just entered a new Secure Key and am able to use TB to receive my email. Unfortunately this still leaves me the problem with AT&T/Yahoo incompetence in correcting this malfunction in their system.
