Hi all, Recently, I wanted to download and install Thunderbird on my Macbook and PC, but I am unable to download the application due to an error.

Thunderbird download links lead me to "https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/..." and "https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/..." but they both output the following error message:

   502 Server Error
The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.
Please try again in 30 seconds.

Out of curiosity, I turned the VPN on and set the location to the US (by the way, I live in Korea). Then I re-attempted to download from the links above, which indeed worked! (as soon as I turn off the VPN, it stops working immediately)

However, I don't think turning on the VPN every install/update is preferable. Is this a known issue? Perhaps a country restriction set-up on the FTP server? If there is a workaround/fix for this issue, any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is the link to the current release download on official website, where you can see all the various language and download options.

Hi Toad-Hall, thank you for your reply. I was hoping to use package managers (winget, brew) to install Thunderbird, but I guess my only option would be to manually download and install them through that website.

Thanks for the input!

I will leave this post open for a couple more days before I mark it solved, just in case others might join in the discussion.
