Why is video streaming so laggy and choppy using Firefox on Mobile?
Streaming video on websites using Firefox or Firefox Nightly like YouTube, Tubi TV etc on my smartphone running on Android plays in a low, sluggish frame rate that can be hard to watch. When using a chromium powered web browser for media consumption like Kiwi Browser, the same video on the same player from the same website plays perfectly smooth every time.
The only extension I have installed on both the Firefox and Firefox Nightly apps on my phone is UBlock Origin.
Does anybody know of any settings or optimizations I can make that can help smooth out video streaming playback on Firefox?

Hi
As a first step, I would suggest using WiFi and making sure you have a good connection. Further to this, I suggest closing other apps that you may have open on your Android device.
My Wi-Fi is not the problem, the network averages over 100 mps of download speed, and like I said all the sames videos from the same websites on chromium web browsers on my Android smartphone playback perfectly smooth when it comes to the frame rate, it's only playing videos on Firefox that is choppy. Other apps are always forced closed when using Firefox too.
Any other suggestions?
Hi there,
I've been hearing about this as a possible issue. If you disable the UBlock add-on as a test, does that help improve the video performance?
If not, I want to escalate this as a bug. However, I know they're going to ask for a performance profile of the app on your device. Please follow this guide to get a profile of your device: https://profiler.firefox.com/docs/#/./guide-profiling-android-directly-on-device
Once it has you "Start Profiler" in the settings, please navigate to the sites you mentioned and let the videos play for a bit. Once done, then go back and hit "Stop Profiler"
This will give you an online link for the profile, please send that back. Thanks!
